Karen King named Cambridge Who's Who Executive of the Year in Restaurant Franchising
Orange Park, FL…May 6, 2007–Karen Lee King, President of The King Group, Inc., c/o McDonalds of Orange Park has been named Cambridge Who's Who Executive of the Year in Restaurant Franchising. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only one member in each discipline is named the Cambridge Who's Who Executive/Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee hand picks these special Who's Who honorees based on accomplishments, academic achievement, leadership and service.
King began her career in the restaurant franchising industry 33 years ago as the first female franchise operator. Now, she oversees the administration and management of three McDonald's franchises. Over the years, she had shown a personal commitment to the time and energy needed to successfully run a fast food business. King received her Associates Degree in Business Administration and Economics from Okalossa Walton College in 1973. She has attended all franchise classes including Hamburger University, McDonald's worldwide management training center. King is a member of Women Business Owners of North Florida, Clay County Chamber of Commerce and Clay County Economic Development Council. She is on the Salvation Army Board and the Planning and Zoning Board. In 1985, King was named Clay County Business Person of the Year.
